Pumpkin Spice Latte M&M's

Much like the Oreo brand, M&M's have become known for their unique flavor varieties over the last few years.  Whether it was Red Velvet or Carrot Cake, the candy classics have become synonymous with the ever-changing seasons.  Being able to adapt and transition from one event to the other, Mars have put M&M's on the holiday map and, as expected, they're at it again with one of their best editions to date!

If you've been reading The Holidaze since 2011, then you're already aware of the fact that I haven't always been the biggest fan of pumpkin flavored anything.  I've always supported its existence, but was never able to get my taste buds aboard the pumpkin wagon.  However, since my very first post, I have tried my damnedest to change that and acquire the taste to join all of you Pumpkinheads during this time of celebration.  For years, I've felt like it was the only major aspect of the season that I was missing out on.  Well, thanks to Starbucks' Pumpkin Spice Latte, I can now confirm that my hard work has paid off and I am now a full-fledged Pumpkinhead!

Up until about a month ago, I had never even sipped a Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks.  Although my fiance loved them and I was well aware that they were the holy grail of all things pumpkin, I just couldn't imagine myself actually liking it.  I just kept picturing blended innards topped with whipped cream. Welp, I decided that this year would be different and I'd at least man up enough to say I tried it.  So I did and, low and behold, I went from manning up to becoming your basic white chick because I was loving my Pumpkin Spice Latte as I walked the aisles of Target in search of Halloween decor.  Just like that, everything changed and I was able to embrace a part of Halloween that I had never enjoyed before.  That made reviewing these new Pumpkin Spice Latte M&M's much more exciting.  Now, I'd actually have something to relate them to.

With so many different M&M's varieties on shelves, I've had my fair share of flavors.  Candy Corn, Gingerbread, Cherry, Candy Apple - you name it, I've given them a whirl.  Just about every time, I've been somewhat disappointed.  While I've always tasted a hint of what they were supposed to be, I usually didn't get much more than what they've always been - Milk chocolate covered in a candy coated shell.  They've always tasted good, but never extraordinary.

Well, contrary to everything I just told you, these Pumpkin Spice Latte M&M's are fantastic! As soon as you open the bag, you're embraced by the cool scent of fall and cinnamon.  The thought of Summer's heat instantly leaves your mind and you become immersed in the spirit of October.  Even more importantly, these taste exactly like the Pumpkin Spice Latte I had from Starbucks in early September.  There's nothing slight or subtle about this flavor, it simply does what we want it to do.  If Starbucks took their recipe and had Willy Wonka turn that into candy, this is what he'd give us.  It's the perfect combination of cinnamon, spices, nutmeg, pumpkin and, of course, chocolate.  This won't leave you wondering where the flavor is, you'll only be asking yourself why this hasn't existed sooner.  Finally, M&M's get it right and give us a candy to be proud of.  It may be too early to say, but this may very well be Fall's Candy Champion!

Repeatedly getting involved in my business, Leatherface can't help but to disagree and rip through these Pumpkin Spice Latte M&M's with his plastic chainsaw.  He's always interrupting a good review with this type on nonsense.  The only way to stop him is by picking him up, putting him away, and realizing that he's a toy.  With so many more posts to com, that's simply not going to happen!

Once again, we have another Halloween product receiving a 10 / 10.  Not to be confused with "Pumpkin Spice" M&M's from 2013, these "Pumpkin Spice Latte" M&M's are sitting high and mighty on their tiny thrones.  I'm not one to throw around a perfect score so willy nilly, but these definitely deserve the accolades.  So far, we've been very luck this Halloween season and, from what I can tell, we're going to see more positives than negatives in 2015.  With so many different products coming out by so many different companies and brands, it's almost a foregone conclusion that this is going to be a winning year for all Hallogeeks!  Now go out and get yourself some Pumpkin Spice Latte M&M's and, while your at it, stop by Starbucks to wash 'em down!
